Hockley Pentecostal Church

The vision of Hockley Pentecostal Church is to grow spiritually,  physically and numerically.  All of these have been happening but it is the physical differences that have been the most obvious over the last twelve months. A major refurbishment of the entrance,  foyer and main hall has cost over £100,000.  It was a step of faith to take on such a big project but every bit of it has now been paid for. £30,000 of rewiring is hidden beneath the newly painted and panelled walls.  The platform area has changed position from one end to the middle giving the place a much cosier and more intimate atmosphere.  The decor has also benefitted from new carpet and 400 comfortable chairs.  All this is topped off with new, state of the art, sound, light and computer equipment.  Check out the before, during and after pictures below.

On Bank Holiday Monday, the 28th May, we held our 6th annual Family Funday.  The weather was looking grim, but undeterred our army of volunteers sprang into action getting everything ready.  Their efforts were well rewarded as over 500 people came.  The bouncy castles had to be cancelled due to the rain but the children and parents had plenty of other things to do.  There were all sorts of games and activities including face painting,  a puppet show,  live music, singing and  dancing.  Who said “There’s no such thing as a free lunch”?  Everything on the day,  including the food, was provided absolutely free of charge.
